They have a low enough resolution that decent performance is achievable without an extremely expensive gaming computer, yet are high enough resolution that you can see more fine details in your favorite games. They aren't just for PC gaming anymore; p is supported by the Xbox One, making a p monitor an attractive alternative for students who don't have enough room for a full-size TV.
We've reviewed over monitors, and below are our recommendations for the best p gaming monitors that are available for purchase. It handles reflections well, and it gets bright enough to overcome glare in most rooms. Build quality and ergonomics are both good, and except for the RGB lighting strip on the back, the overall design doesn't look out of place in a work environment.
It has outstanding motion handling, which is mainly due to its exceptionally fast response time and Hz refresh rate. Unfortunately, there are a few downsides.
The contrast ratio is low and black uniformity is poor on our unit, so it isn't ideal for gaming in the dark. Also, its out-of-the-box color accuracy is quite bad, and it doesn't support HDR. On the plus side, it has a generous number of USB 3. Overall, it's an excellent gaming monitor that should satisfy casual and serious gamers alike.
With its smaller 24 inch screen size, the p resolution results in a higher pixel density, which makes images and text look sharper. Its TN panel has an exceptionally fast response time, and there's a Black Frame Insertion feature as well. Unfortunately, it has a low contrast ratio and bad black uniformity, so it isn't the best option for dark room gaming. It performs very well in bright rooms, as it overcomes glare easily and has impressive reflection handling.
It doesn't have much in terms of additional features, but it does have four USB 3. Overall, the ViewSonic is better for most people.
It has wider viewing angles, more features, and its FreeSync compatibility makes it more versatile in case you change to a graphics card in the future that doesn't support G-SYNC. However, if you prefer a smaller screen, the Dell is an excellent alternative. Images look sharp, and motion blur is minimal in fast-moving scenes thanks to its excellent response time and black frame insertion feature. It has an extremely low input lag, and although it's slightly higher when FreeSync is enabled, it shouldn't be noticeable for most gamers.
The stand has excellent ergonomics, allowing you to adjust it to your optimal viewing position.
Best gaming monitors in 2020
Its IPS panel provides great viewing angles, so the image remains accurate when viewed from the side. It has a good peak brightness that's suitable for an averagely-lit room, but unfortunately, it doesn't look as good in the dark, as it has a mediocre contrast ratio and black uniformity, which is expected of most IPS panels. Sadly, there's no USB hub to charge mobile devices, but it does come with integrated speakers if you don't have any dedicated ones.
All in all, if you're looking for a p monitor with great gaming performance and FreeSync support, this one is worth checking out. However, it's significantly slower when playing at 60Hz, which is disappointing for console gamers. Unfortunately, it has bad black uniformity, which could get distracting when using it in the dark, and even though it has a local dimming feature, it's quite bad.
Overall, the ASUS performs better in general, but if HDR performance is important to you and you don't mind the poor viewing angles, look into the Samsung. The higher the resolution the better — granted that you can afford it and that you have a powerful enough PC. If your PC rig is too strong for p, you should definitely invest in a p display.

So, what exactly will p offer you as opposed to p, at what cost, and is worth it? Both resolutions have aspect ratio.
This is where pixel density plays a key role. Essentially, this means that the picture on a inch p monitor will be pixelated, have smudgy text, and blurry details. With PPI, on the other hand, you hit the pixel density sweet spot as you get plenty of screen space as well as sharp and vivid details without having to use scaling! This makes p monitors ideal for multi-tasking and professional purposes, especially if you can get two for a dual setup.
When watching Full HD p content on a p monitor, a video player uses upscaling or upconversion process which matches the number of pixels in order to deliver the full-screen viewing experience. For instance, the p Blu-ray movies look amazing on p resolution displays, while some lesser quality videos are not as sharp — but still watchable.
While gaming is demanding at p, everyday use is not. Keep in mind that with the GTXyou could also opt for a p Hz monitor instead, if you mainly play fast-paced competitive FPS games.
As you can see, there are many facts to take into account when it comes to p vs p.

Picking the best p graphics card can be somewhat complicated however. This guide can help. The Radeon RX has no problem clearing the frames-per-second gold standard in the vast majority of modern games. In such cases, bumping a couple of visual settings from Ultra down to High or Very High should do the trick.
It also supports the bleeding-edge PCIe 4. Add it all up and the Radeon RX is the best graphics card for p gaming at 60 frames per second. Custom versions like the Sapphire Pulse Radeon RX deliver big improvements in thermals and acoustic performance, while providing other nice quality-of-life features such as a mild out-of-the-box overclock, a metal backplate, and a dual-BIOS switch with Performance and Quiet profiles.
Other custom Radeon RX models cost the same or more depending on their feature set. Playing with a mixture of Medium to High settings reduces memory demands though, and you may have to do that for the best frame rates with these more mainstream-priced cards. Ray tracing provides gorgeous lighting effects at a significant frame rate penalty. Again, both are well worth the extra investment if you can swing it. That said, the GeForce RTX Super delivers the best p gaming performance and the best ray tracing performance of the bunch.
A lot of this advice revolves around the refresh rate of your monitor. The faster your monitor refreshes, the faster the graphics card you can use. Some monitors can run at different speeds depending on their settings. If what you see appears slower than what your monitor should be capable of, you might need to dive into the options menu for your specific monitor, which is accessible via hardware buttons on your display.

You don't want to buy a new p screen if you plan on upgrading to one of the best graphics cards in a couple of months time. Something like an Nvidia RTX will deliver fantastic 4K gaming performance, but will be almost wasted on a p panel. But the flip side of that is there's little point in picking up a spanking 4K gaming monitor today if you've only got an AMD RX XT humming away inside your rig and aren't likely to find the cash for a 4K-capable GPU anytime soon.
Sure, you can knock back the resolution in games, but modern panels look pretty unpleasant when they're not run at their native res.
There are other things to consider too. Do you want to go for an ultrawide aspect ratio to give that real wrap-around aesthetic? The answer to all those questions should be a resounding: yes. Ultrawide monitors give an extra level of immersion to your games, though are sadly an unconscionably expensive luxury compared to a good display. High refresh rates are almost a given nowadays, however, and should definitely be on your new gaming monitor checklist.
The clarity of image, viewing angle, and color reproduction are all far superior to the cheaper technology. Colors aren't quite so hot, but the contrast performance is still impressive.
It is a inch monitor with a x resolution, which we currently consider the sweet spot for high-end gaming. It offers substantially more pixels than p without being as demanding on your PC hardware as a 4K panel.
That means games look sharp at 27 inches but it won't bring a good GPU to its knees. Plus, you can still get higher than 60Hz refresh rates, which isn't possible on a lot of 4K displays.
You can also comfortably run at percent scaling in Windows, something that isn't always desirable with 4K panels. Inputs include DisplayPort 1. The biggest drawback to such an excellent monitor, of course, is the price. Don't buy something cheap; you'll want to replace it in two years. Buy a great monitor that will still be going strong half a decade from now, which is exactly what this screen proves. The Acer XBK is a more recent variant of the Predator X27, a gaming monitor we loved until this usurper came and took its place.
It offers all the quality, but is far better value. It's not quite as strong on the HDR front, but otherwise matches the X27 punch for punch. G-Sync is present to offer stable pictures and smoothness in games, and the speedy refresh rate and response times back this up too.
There is also a substantial range of ports available to you no matter what gear you're packing. It might be a little on the pricey side still, but the value is undeniable. And, just in case you get spun out by the edging on intentionally confusing model names, you may see it listed as the XB3 or XBKP depending on the shop and where you are in the world. The Pixio PX Prime is about as barebones as they come in regards to gaming monitors.Social Media Updates Facebook's Launching a New Library of Free Audio Tracks to Add Music to Your Videos Facebook's launching a new library of royalty-free audio tracks you can use to enhance your videos.
